Noida, August 10, 2026: For hundreds of farmers who have been waiting for residential plots under Noida’s rehabilitation policy, Diwali could bring more than just a festive celebration this year.
The Noida Authority is working to complete the allotment of residential plots to more than 350 eligible farmers before Diwali, with the allotments planned through a draw. The move is aimed at clearing long-pending cases under the Authority’s 5% residential plot quota for affected farmers.
For the families waiting for these plots, the development is important because the allotment can finally give them a clear residential asset in Noida instead of leaving their cases stuck in administrative processes.
Why These 350 Plot Allotments Matter
The Noida Authority has identified land in Sector 146 and other locations for the pending allotments. Rather than handling each case separately, officials have prepared a combined list of eligible farmers so that the remaining cases can be processed together.
The Authority expects this approach to save time and help complete the allotment process before Diwali.
The 5% plot provision is linked to Noida’s policy for farmers whose land was acquired for development. The policy has historically been an important part of rehabilitation, although delays in allotment have kept many eligible families waiting for their residential plots.
Plot Location Will Be Decided Through Draw
One of the key changes in the latest process is the use of a draw to decide the plot location.
This means eligible farmers will not individually choose specific locations. The draw will determine which plot each successful beneficiary receives.
Even premium-location plots will be covered by the same process. If a farmer gets a corner plot, a plot facing a park or one located on a road wider than 12 metres, the allotment will be based on the draw result.
The approach is intended to reduce disputes over plot locations and make the allotment process more transparent.
Authority Wants Process Completed Before Diwali
Noida Authority OSD Kranti Shekhar said the allotment work for the remaining plots under the 5% quota has been accelerated and that efforts are being made to hand over plots to more than 350 farmers before Diwali.
The Authority is also using a common list of eligible farmers instead of processing cases individually. This could help remove one of the major bottlenecks that has delayed allotments in the past.
What This Could Mean for Noida's Property Market
While the immediate beneficiaries are the farmers, the move also has a wider real estate significance for Noida.
Residential plots in established Noida sectors are valuable assets because they offer owners the flexibility to construct homes or hold land as a long-term property investment.
