UP Approves 73,184 More PMAY-U 2.0 Homes, Taking Total Sanctioned Houses to 4.88 Lakh
Lucknow | August 11, 2026: Thousands of urban families in Uttar Pradesh have moved a step closer to getting a pucca home, with the state government approving 73,184 new houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0).
The fresh approval covers 137 urban local bodies under the Beneficiary-Led Individual House Construction (BLC) component. With this addition, the total number of houses sanctioned under the BLC component in Uttar Pradesh has reached 4,88,526.

The latest sanction was cleared by the State Level Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (SLSMC) at a meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary S P Goyal.

Under the BLC component, eligible families can receive government assistance to construct a new pucca house on their own land, subject to the scheme's conditions.
