92% Land Acquisition Completed for Ganga Link Expressway, Rest by September

GREATER NOIDA, August 29, 2026: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has completed 92% of the land purchase required for the proposed Ganga Link Expressway, with the remaining 8% targeted for completion by September.

The expressway will connect the Ganga and Yamuna Expressways, with an interchange planned near the Film City on the Yamuna Expressway. The project will start from the YEIDA region and extend towards Bulandshahr.

74.5-Km Expressway to Cost ₹8,586 Crore

The proposed Ganga Link Expressway will stretch approximately 74.5 km and is estimated to cost ₹8,586 crore.

The six-lane road will have a total width of around 80 metres, along with service roads on both sides. Around 20 km of the project will pass through the YEIDA region.

₹1,209 Crore Allocated for YEIDA Land Purchase

YEIDA has been assigned responsibility for purchasing land within its notified area. Around ₹1,209 crore has been allocated for this purpose.

Most of the land has been purchased at approximately ₹4,300 per sq m. However, the authority's subsequent increase in compensation rates has affected the pace of land acquisition.

 

Why the Project Matters

The link is expected to strengthen connectivity between the Ganga and Yamuna Expressway corridors and improve access towards Bulandshahr and the wider NCR region.

For property owners and investors, improved expressway connectivity could also increase the long-term development potential of areas located along the corridor.

What Happens Next

YEIDA officials expect the remaining 8% land acquisition to be completed by September 2026. However, the revised compensation rates need to be formally implemented before the remaining land registration process can move ahead.
