UP RERA Gives Eligible Projects 4-Month Extension Amid West Asia Conflict

Lucknow, August 26, 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has granted a four-month extension to eligible registered real estate projects affected by disruptions linked to the ongoing West Asia conflict.

The extension applies to projects whose original, revised or previously extended completion date falls between February 28 and October 31, 2026. The additional period will be counted from the existing registration validity date.

The conflict has affected construction activity and project timelines, creating delays for some developers. The additional four months could give eligible projects more time to complete pending construction and regulatory requirements, offering some relief to both developers and homebuyers awaiting possession.

 

Projects must meet conditions

Developers will have to fulfil certain conditions to receive the extension. These include having valid approved maps, layouts or building plans as of February 28, 2026, submitting all pending quarterly progress reports before the registration expires and filing the FY 2024-25 annual audit report.

Eligible projects meeting these requirements will receive the four-month extension automatically.
