Bhubaneswar, August 26, 2026: The Enforcement Directorate’s recent advisory warning homebuyers against fraudulent builders, hidden RERA details and cash payment demands has received strong support from real estate experts, lawyers and homebuyer groups in Odisha.

The advisory is particularly relevant in the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack region, where buyers continue to face concerns over delayed projects, unregistered project phases and financial irregularities. The ED has advised buyers to report developers who conceal RERA registration details or insist on cash transactions.


What Homebuyers Should Check

Experts have urged buyers to independently verify the developer’s RERA registration, land ownership and title documents before booking a property. Buyers have also been advised to avoid informal booking arrangements and cash payments that are not properly documented.

Legal experts said suspicious cash demands or concealed RERA information can be warning signs of financial irregularities and may put a buyer’s investment at risk.
