LuLu Group to Invest 2,500 Crore in Delhi-NCR, Aims for 25 Stores by 2030

New Delhi | October 21, 2026: If you live in Delhi-NCR — especially Greater Noida, Gurugram, or any of the growing residential pockets around — this one could quietly change how and where you shop in the coming years.
UAE-based retail giant LuLu Group is planning a 2,500-crore investment across Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh. The goal is clear: open 25 stores in the region by 2030. The expansion is expected to boost demand for large retail spaces in established malls as well as newer residential catchments.
The company has already opened a 1-lakh sq ft hypermarket at I-Thum’s Galleria Mall in Greater Noida and is now scouting more locations across the NCR. Depending on population density and catchment potential, LuLu will mix large hypermarkets with smaller daily-concept stores.
Gurugram Store on the Cards
A new store of around 30,000 sq ft is expected to open in a Gurugram mall by the end of the current financial year. The project is currently in the design and planning stage, with fit-out work likely to begin soon.
Store sizes will typically range between 30,000 and 70,000 sq ft, while larger hypermarket formats will take up significantly more space. The company is particularly focused on densely populated areas and emerging residential neighbourhoods.
The Greater Noida hypermarket, leased for 15 years, is being treated as LuLu’s entry point into the wider Delhi-NCR market. The mall currently sees about 8,000 visitors a day. LuLu expects footfall to jump 70–80% after the store opens, with the hypermarket itself accounting for roughly half of the total visitors.
What’s in It for You?
- Everyday shopping: Large-format stores mean more options for groceries and daily essentials under one roof, especially useful in newer residential areas that currently lack strong organised retail.
- Jobs: The Greater Noida store alone is expected to create at least 1,500 direct and indirect jobs. More stores will mean more employment opportunities across the region.
- Real estate impact: When a big international-format retailer moves in, it usually lifts footfall and makes surrounding commercial space more attractive. For homebuyers and investors, this can add to the overall convenience and value of nearby residential projects.
- Mall owners: A major anchor like LuLu strengthens tenant demand and overall mall performance.
Expansion Beyond Delhi-NCR
LuLu is also growing in other cities. In Lucknow, after opening a 22-lakh sq ft mall in 2022, the group is planning two additional stores of about 30,000 sq ft each in Ashiyana and Aliganj. The company is simultaneously expanding its omnichannel and online operations.
Right now, the immediate priority is the planned Gurugram store, while the longer-term target remains 25 outlets across Delhi-NCR by 2030. The group is evaluating both leasing existing mall spaces and, in some cases, acquiring or developing its own properties.
For residents, shoppers, job seekers, and property buyers in the NCR, LuLu’s expansion is worth watching. When a large organised retailer enters emerging neighbourhoods, it often brings better shopping options, more jobs, and a stronger local commercial ecosystem with it.
