GDA’s ₹3,060 Compensation Charge Sparks Anger in Vaishali, Residents Plan Next Move
Ghaziabad, August 24, 2026: Residents and RWA representatives in Vaishali and Indirapuram have raised objections to the Ghaziabad Development Authority’s (GDA) compensation charge of around ₹3,060 per square metre, arguing that the financial burden should not be passed on to existing property owners.

According to local residents, the additional financial burden has been linked to a land-related case involving farmers, in which the GDA lost the case. Residents said the charge is being imposed citing the Supreme Court’s order.
The issue has triggered concern among property owners in Vaishali and Indirapuram, who argue that they should not have to bear the financial consequences of litigation involving the development authority.
RWA Representatives Hold Meeting in Vaishali
RWA representatives and residents gathered at Kamna Park in Sector 5, Vaishali, on Sunday to discuss the compensation charge.
Residents said the additional payment could significantly increase their property-related financial burden, particularly for larger properties.
The meeting was organised at the request of social worker Harish Sah. Several local residents and RWA representatives participated in the discussion.
Residents Seek Intervention From Local Representatives
Councillor Rajkumar Bhati assured residents that he would raise the issue with Cabinet Minister and local MLA Sunil Sharma.
An effort will also be made to arrange a meeting between RWA representatives, GDA officials and local representatives so that the residents’ concerns can be discussed directly.
Legal Action Could Follow If Talks Fail
Residents said their first priority is to find a solution through discussions with elected representatives and government officials.
However, if no resolution is reached, they may consider taking the matter through legal channels.
