Hyderabad Residents Seek Relief From 22-A Property Restrictions

HYDERABAD, August 31, 2026: Residents of Krishinagar and Ajay Nagar colonies in Bandlaguda have urged the Telangana government to remove their properties from the 22-A prohibited list and allow registrations.

Residents Say Homes Were Built Legally

Residents said hundreds of houses, more than 100 apartment buildings and several places of worship have existed in the area for nearly 40 years.

According to residents, their properties in Survey Nos. 36/2 to 36/5 were developed after obtaining permissions and no-objection certificates from various government authorities.

22-A Listing Creates Uncertainty

Residents claimed that authorities including GHMC, the water board and TGSPDCL had previously approved construction and provided water and electricity connections.

They said the subsequent inclusion of the land in the 22-A prohibited list, citing it as government property, has created uncertainty for thousands of families and restricted property registrations.

 

Residents Seek Government Intervention

The Krishinagar and Ajay Nagar welfare associations have appealed to Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and the Medchal-Malkajgiri district collector for urgent intervention.

Residents argue that many families invested their life savings in these properties after relying on permissions and NOCs issued by government departments.
