Ahmedabad Makes Property Tax Name Transfers Easier With Smart Queue System

Ahmedabad, Gujarat | September 3, 2026

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has introduced a smart digital queue management system to make property tax bill name transfers more convenient for citizens. The LogBook360 Smart Queue Management System has been implemented across AMC's seven zonal offices, with plans to extend it to 63 additional civic centres.

Digital Queue System Introduced for Property Tax Services

The new system is designed to streamline the process for citizens visiting civic offices for services such as name transfers on property tax bills.

Instead of waiting in unorganised physical queues, visitors can generate digital tokens and track their position electronically, helping make the service process more structured.

QR Check-In and Digital Tokens Reduce Waiting Hassles

LogBook360 offers QR code-based check-in and digital token generation. Citizens who arrive without a prior booking can obtain an instant token through self-service kiosks installed at the offices.

After receiving a token, visitors can wait in designated seating areas rather than standing in queues.

Live Updates Help Citizens Track Their Turn

Digital display screens show the status of token numbers in real time. Once a token is called at the designated counter, the citizen can proceed to complete the required service.

The system is expected to reduce crowding and confusion at civic offices while giving property owners better visibility over their waiting time.

More Civic Centres to Be Added

AMC currently operates the system across its seven zonal offices and plans to expand the facility to 63 more civic centres.

The civic body is also considering the use of digital queue management for health department services, including Yellow Fever vaccination appointments and birth certificate-related services.

What It Means for Property Owners

Property tax name transfer is an important administrative step following property transactions, inheritance and other changes in ownership. A more organised process can reduce the time and uncertainty associated with visiting municipal offices.

For property owners, the new system could make routine civic formalities more predictable while improving transparency in service delivery.

AMC Moves Toward More Digital Property Services

The introduction of LogBook360 is part of a wider shift towards technology-driven civic services. By combining digital tokens, QR check-ins and live queue information, AMC aims to improve both citizen convenience and staff efficiency.

If expanded successfully across additional civic centres, the system could make property-related municipal services easier to access for a larger number of Ahmedabad residents.
