Jewar Airport Near 8,000 Hectare Industrial Corridor to Become a New City
Greater Noida, August 27, 2026: A major new urban development is being planned near the Noida International Airport in Jewar, with YEIDA proposing an 8,000-hectare industrial corridor between the airport and Tappal-Bajna. The project is now being planned as a broader new city, with residential and institutional development also being explored.
Master plan to be prepared in four months
YEIDA had invited proposals to prepare the development plan for the proposed corridor. Three companies have submitted applications, and the authority will soon undertake the financial bidding and presentations before selecting a consultant.
The selected company will prepare the detailed project report and a draft master plan in around four months. The proposal will subsequently be placed before the YEIDA board.
Residential development now part of the plan
The project was initially being considered primarily as an industrial corridor. However, YEIDA is now exploring residential, institutional and other urban uses as part of the proposed new city.
This could create a larger ecosystem around the airport, combining industrial activity with housing and supporting urban infrastructure.
Road connectivity to improve access
A 60-metre-wide road connecting towards Noida Airport is proposed to be extended to the new city. YEIDA is also preparing to connect the area with the 130-metre-wide Greater Noida West road.
The planned development could also help connect the Aligarh Defence Corridor with the airport.
