Missed Booking a DDA Flat? Homebuyers Get Another Chance as Narela Housing Deadline Extended
NEW DELHI | August 5, 2026: If you were planning to buy a ready-to-move-in DDA flat in Delhi but couldn't complete your application, there's good news. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has extended the last date to apply under its Nagrik Awas Yojana and Karmayogi Awas Yojana until August 31, 2026, giving homebuyers more time to secure an affordable home in Narela.
The extension comes after strong demand for the schemes, with thousands of flats already booked. For many first-time homebuyers and government employees, this could be another opportunity to own a home in Delhi at a discounted price.
Thousands of DDA flats already booked
Since the launch of Nagrik Awas Yojana in January 2026, buyers have booked 2,062 out of 3,656 flats offered in Narela.
Encouraged by the response, DDA has proposed adding 1,287 more High Income Group (HIG) and Middle Income Group (MIG) flats in Sectors A1 to A4. The proposal is awaiting approval, after which fresh inventory will be opened for booking.
Karmayogi Awas Yojana also sees strong demand
The Karmayogi Awas Yojana, launched for government employees, has also received an encouraging response.
DDA has already sold 2,274 flats under the scheme and recently added 1,552 newly constructed flats in Pocket-13, Narela, to meet growing demand. The authority said efforts are continuing to sell the remaining inventory.
Why many buyers are showing interest
Apart from extending the deadline, DDA has introduced several buyer-friendly measures to make the schemes more attractive.
Homebuyers are getting:
- 25% discount on eligible flats
- Ready-to-move-in freehold apartments
- First Come, First Served (FCFS) allotment
- Faster possession timeline, reduced from 90 days to 60 days
- Simplified documentation through a single affidavit-cum-undertaking
These changes are aimed at reducing paperwork and helping buyers take possession of their homes sooner.
New online facility for buyers
For applicants under the Karmajeevi Awas Yojana, DDA has also uploaded detailed floor-wise information on its website.
Buyers can now check:
- Available flats
- Floor location
- Balcony area
- Parking details
- Common area information
This allows applicants to compare options and choose their preferred flat without making multiple site visits.
