Jewar Airport First Commercial Flight Lands Today | 170 Farmers Who Gave Land Take Maiden Journey

NOIDA | June 15, 2026 — The first commercial flight from Noida International Airport landed at Jewar this morning. A Lucknow-bound flight carried 170 special passengers: the farmers who gave their land for the airport.
This is not just an aviation milestone. It is a closure for thousands of families who parted with their agricultural land for this project.
What Happened Today
The inaugural flight took off from Jewar at 6:30 AM and landed in Lucknow at 7:45 AM. On board were 170 farmers from 6 villages that were acquired for the airport project.
Each farmer received a commemorative boarding pass and a certificate from YEIDA.
Why This Matters for Property Owners
With the airport now operational, three things will change immediately:
-
Bank approvals will start for stalled housing projects in Sector 22-28
-
Rental demand will rise as airport staff need housing
-
Land prices within 5 km of the airport will see fresh movement
Areas like Jewar Bangar, Rohi, and Kishorpur will benefit the most in the next 6 months.
What Farmers Said
"We gave our land for this dream. Today we flew in that dream."
"For years our families struggled without compensation. Today we feel proud."
What You Should Do Now
If you own property near Jewar:
-
Check if your sector is YEIDA-approved
-
Visit the airport area next weekend to see real activity
-
Do not sell in a hurry. Prices will firm up by December 2026
If you are a buyer:
-
Wait for bank loan approvals to resume
-
Target Sector 22, 24, 28 only
-
Avoid non-approved sectors at any cost
What's Next
Full commercial operations will begin from October 2026. By then, 20 daily flights will connect Jewar to 8 cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai.
