PDA to Open Bookings for 700 Affordable Flats in Prayagraj Buyers Can Reserve a Home with 2.5 Lakh

PRAYAGRAJ | July 27, 2026: Homebuyers looking for an affordable apartment in Prayagraj are set to get a new opportunity as the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) prepares to launch a housing project featuring 700 two-bedroom flats. Buyers will be able to register for the scheme by paying an initial amount of 2.5 lakh, while the estimated cost of each apartment has been fixed at 25 lakh.

The project is expected to target middle-income families seeking budget-friendly homes in the city.

Registration Likely to Begin in December

According to the authority's proposed schedule, registrations for the housing scheme are expected to begin in December. Applicants will need to deposit 10% of the apartment price at the time of registration.

Construction activities are expected to begin after the planned groundbreaking ceremony later this year.

700 New 2BHK Flats Planned

The residential project will include around 700 2BHK apartments designed to offer affordable housing in Prayagraj.

Officials have indicated that the apartments will be allotted through a lottery system, giving eligible applicants an equal opportunity to secure a flat once registrations close.

RERA Approval Process in Progress

Before launching bookings, PDA has initiated the process of obtaining registration under the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA).

RERA registration is expected to provide buyers with access to verified project information, approved timelines and regulatory safeguards before making a purchase decision.

Project Planned on Reclaimed Government Land

The housing development is being planned on land that was recovered by the development authority during an anti-encroachment drive. The authority now intends to utilise the site for a planned residential project that will expand the supply of affordable homes in Prayagraj.

Construction Target Set at Three Years

Officials expect the project to be completed within three years after construction begins.

Once completed, the development will add hundreds of new affordable housing units to the city's residential market, where demand for reasonably priced homes continues to grow.

What This Means for Homebuyers

Prospective buyers interested in the scheme should wait for the official registration notification and verify the project's RERA registration, eligibility criteria, payment schedule and allotment process before applying.

Why This Matters

Affordable housing remains one of the biggest priorities for first-time homebuyers. The upcoming PDA project could provide a relatively low-cost homeownership opportunity while increasing the availability of organised housing in Prayagraj.
