The Simple Formula

Stamp Duty = (Property Value × Stamp Duty Rate) + Registration Charges

Important Rule: Property value is NOT your agreement price. It is the higher of (Agreement Value OR Government Circle Rate).

Example: You buy for ₹70 lakh, but circle rate is ₹75 lakh. You pay stamp duty on ₹75 lakh.
