Gurugram Vacant Plots Face Tighter Checks as DTCP Directs DLF to Monitor Misuse

Gurugram, September 2, 2026: Owners of vacant residential plots in Gurugram's DLF 3 may face closer scrutiny after the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) directed DLF to regularly monitor such properties and report any misuse.

The direction follows complaints regarding the misuse of vacant residential plots in licensed DLF colonies. After verifying complaints, DTCP issued show-cause notices to the owners of plot numbers MA-38 and MA-39.

DLF Asked to Report Land-Use Violations

DTCP has asked DLF to cooperate in identifying and reporting violations involving vacant plots or buildings. The developer continues to be responsible for maintenance and essential services in the licensed plotted colonies as they have not yet been formally handed over to the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG).

The department has instructed DLF to keep regular checks on such properties and inform DTCP about violations for further action.

Vacant residential plots can become vulnerable to unauthorised construction or activities that do not comply with approved land-use and planning norms. Regular monitoring could help identify such violations before they become larger disputes for property owners and residents.

DTCP's proceedings against the two plot owners will now depend on their responses to the show-cause notices and the department's subsequent assessment.
