Prestige Hospitality Ventures Withdraws ₹2,700 Crore IPO Amid Market Uncertainty

New Delhi | September 26, 2026: Prestige Hospitality Ventures has withdrawn its proposed ₹2,700 crore initial public offering (IPO), putting its planned fundraising on hold amid uncertain market conditions. The decision could affect the timeline for the hospitality company's planned capital-raising, although its parent, Prestige Estates Projects, has indicated that a fresh IPO filing may be considered in the future.
Why Prestige Hospitality Ventures Withdrew Its IPO
Prestige Hospitality Ventures (PHVL), a subsidiary of Prestige Estates Projects, has withdrawn its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) filed for the proposed IPO. The company cited strategic considerations and uncertain market conditions as reasons for the decision.
PHVL's board approved the withdrawal on September 25, 2026, and informed the book-running lead managers. The draft papers have subsequently been withdrawn from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
How Much Was the Company Planning to Raise
The proposed IPO was valued at up to ₹2,700 crore and comprised two components:
- Fresh issue: ₹1,700 crore
- Offer for sale: ₹1,000 crore by promoter Prestige Estates Projects
The fresh issue was intended to raise capital for the company, while the offer-for-sale component would have allowed the parent company to sell part of its stake.
IPO Had Received SEBI Observations in 2025
PHVL filed its DRHP with SEBI, the National Stock Exchange and the BSE on April 24, 2025. The proposed IPO received SEBI's observations in August 2025.
However, receiving regulatory observations did not guarantee that the issue would proceed. The company has now opted to withdraw the draft papers before launching the public offering.
What the Withdrawal Means for Prestige Estates
The withdrawal puts the proposed ₹2,700 crore fundraising on hold. It also means Prestige Estates Projects' planned ₹1,000 crore stake sale through the IPO will not proceed under the withdrawn offer.
The decision does not, by itself, indicate any change in the company's existing hospitality operations or its broader real estate business.
Prestige Hospitality May Consider a Fresh IPO
Prestige Estates said PHVL may consider filing a fresh DRHP in the future. However, the company has not announced a new filing date or a revised IPO timeline.
At the time of its original filing, PHVL operated seven hotels. Any future IPO proposal will depend on the company's strategic decisions and prevailing market conditions.
What Investors and Property Market Watchers Should Track
The withdrawal highlights the uncertainty surrounding the timing of the hospitality company's public listing. Investors tracking Prestige Estates can watch for any future announcement about a fresh IPO filing, changes to the proposed issue size or a revised fundraising plan.
For now, the ₹2,700 crore IPO remains withdrawn, with no confirmed timeline for a renewed public offering.
