India Housing Sales Rise 3% in Q3 2026 to 100,220 Units

Housing sales across India's seven major cities rose 3% year on year to about 100,220 units in the July-September quarter, property consultant Anarock reported. The figure compares with 97,080 units a year earlier and is 10% higher than the 90,715 units sold in Q2 2026.

Key numbers

  • Sales value: about Rs 1.55 lakh crore, up 2% from Rs 1.52 lakh crore

  • Average price: up 7% year on year across the seven cities

  • New launches: about 114,320 units, up 18% from 96,690 units a year earlier

  • MMR sales: up 5% to 31,750 units (from 30,260)

  • Kolkata sales: down 4% to 3,980 units

Who led

Anarock chairman Anuj Puri said the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Bengaluru together accounted for 48% of total sales. Hyderabad also supported the quarter. Delhi-NCR and Kolkata saw declines.

What it means

Launches growing faster than sales is worth watching, since it can add to unsold stock if demand cools. Puri said the upcoming festive season is expected to support residential demand and build on the momentum seen in Q3. Industry executives credited Bengaluru's employment base, infrastructure and premium housing demand.
