Rajkot to Survey Properties Across 18 Wards What Owners Need to Know

Rajkot, Gujarat | September 28, 2026: Rajkot property owners will see civic survey teams visiting their homes and commercial premises from September 28, as the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) begins a city-wide exercise to update its property database. The survey will cover residential and non-residential properties across all 18 wards, with a private agency using a mobile application to geo-tag properties and record details.

For residents, the key point is that the exercise is intended to update municipal records—not collect taxes or revise property assessments. The civic body has also issued a warning against sharing sensitive personal or financial information with surveyors.

What the Rajkot Property Survey Will Cover

The RMC’s tax recovery department will conduct the survey across all 18 municipal wards. A private agency has been assigned the work, and its employees will visit properties to collect information for updating the civic body’s database.

The survey will include both residential and non-residential properties, covering details such as property addresses, owners’ mobile numbers and water connections.

Why the Civic Body Is Updating Property Records

The stated objective is to update the property database maintained by the RMC’s tax recovery department. Accurate records can help the civic body maintain information about properties across the city.

However, the corporation has clarified that the survey is not an exercise to collect outstanding taxes or change existing property assessments.

Will the Survey Affect Property Tax?

The RMC has said surveyors are not authorised to alter property assessments or collect taxes. The survey itself, therefore, should not be treated as a notice of a tax increase or a demand for payment.

Property owners should continue to rely on official municipal communication for any tax-related changes or payment instructions.

What Property Owners Should Check Before Allowing Entry

Residents should verify the identity of anyone visiting their property for the survey. The RMC has advised people not to allow entry to individuals who cannot produce a valid identity card.

Owners can also ask surveyors to clarify the purpose of their visit and the property details being recorded. Residents should avoid sharing information beyond what is required for the stated survey.

RMC Warns Residents Against Fraud

The civic body has specifically warned residents not to share one-time passwords (OTPs), bank details or other financial information with surveyors. No survey employee has been authorised to collect money or conduct financial transactions.

Anyone asking for an OTP, bank details or payment should be treated with caution. Residents can report such requests to the RMC call centre at 155304.

What Happens Next for Rajkot Property Owners

The survey begins on September 28 and is planned to cover properties across all 18 wards. Residents may receive visits from the agency’s survey teams as the exercise progresses.

Property owners should cooperate with legitimate surveyors while verifying their identity and protecting sensitive information. Any tax demand or change in assessment should be confirmed directly through official RMC channels rather than through survey staff.
