LDA Action in Lucknow Seals 14 Illegal Buildings and Demolishes 13 Unauthorised Plottings
Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh | September 3, 2026: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has intensified action against unauthorised construction and illegal plotting across the city. The authority sealed 14 illegal buildings in Aliganj, Chinhat and Gomti Nagar and demolished 13 unauthorised plotting projects spread across around 30 bighas in Gosainganj, Bijnor and Dubagga.
Six Illegal Commercial Buildings Sealed in Aliganj
In Aliganj, the LDA sealed six commercial buildings that had allegedly been constructed on land designated for residential use. The action covered properties in Chandralok Colony's Sector E, Sector F and Sector J.
According to LDA officials, the sealed premises were being used for commercial activities including showrooms, restaurants, a private bank, a BigBasket warehouse and a sports centre.
The action comes as the authority continues its drive against commercial use of residential plots without the required approvals.
Eight More Unauthorised Constructions Sealed
The LDA also took action against eight illegal constructions in Chinhat and Gomti Nagar. The affected locations included villages and residential areas around Laulei, Damariya, Bhujangipurwa, Malhaur, Ashraf Vihar Colony and Virat Khand.
The constructions were sealed during enforcement operations carried out by the authority's enforcement teams.
13 Illegal Plottings Demolished Across 30 Bighas
The LDA also used demolition machinery against unauthorised plotting activities in three parts of Lucknow.
In Gosainganj's Daud Nagar, illegal plotting was being carried out over six bighas and another two-bigha site. Around two bighas of unauthorised plotting was also identified in Himanchal Nagar, Bijnor.
In the Dubagga area, enforcement teams demolished 10 illegal plotting sites spread across approximately 20 bighas in Jehta, Jilhopur Maura and Amethia Salempur.
LDA Approval Required for New Layouts
Officials said the three plotting projects in Gosainganj and Bijnor were being developed without obtaining layout approval from the LDA. The authority subsequently demolished the unauthorised developments.
Such action highlights the risks for buyers who purchase plots in developments that have not received approval from the competent planning authority.
