The projects were inaugurated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, alongside multiple railway infrastructure developments aimed at improving urban connectivity and road safety.
910 Affordable Homes Planned in Nagpur
The housing component includes two residential projects at Mouza Nari with a combined investment of ₹188.77 crore.
The projects will deliver:
- 392 apartments under the Maharshi Sudarshan Balmiki Vasahat project for sanitation workers.
- 518 affordable homes under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) beneficiaries.
Together, the two projects will create 910 new affordable homes.

Officials said the project is planned under the Transferable Development Rights (TDR) model and is targeted for completion within three years.
Railway Infrastructure Projects Also Inaugurated
Alongside the housing projects, authorities inaugurated nine railway infrastructure projects across Maharashtra worth approximately ₹484 crore.
The works include:
- Road overbridges (ROBs)
- Road underbridges (RUBs)
- Railway subways
The projects are intended to reduce congestion, improve connectivity and move towards eliminating unmanned railway crossings.
Why This Matters

For homebuyers and EWS families in Nagpur, the new projects are expected to increase affordable housing availability while improved transport infrastructure could enhance connectivity across the city.
