Meerut: E-Registration for Properties Bought from Development Authority No Need to Visit Registrar Office

MEERUT, June 8: For those purchasing property from government bodies like the Development Authority, Housing and Development Board, and UPCIDA, there is now no need to visit the registrar office for registration.
The government has implemented a new e-registration system, making the process seamless and hassle-free.
How the New System Works
All government bodies have been provided with separate logins on the Registration Department's Prerna software. Authorized officers posted at these institutions will complete all formalities and procedures to carry out the registration process.
The concerned sub-registrar will then examine the documents online and approve them. Stamp duty and registration fees will also be paid online.
Key Features of the New System
Authorized government bodies will receive separate logins on the Prerna portal.
Each institution will have a designated authorized officer for this purpose.
All parties must be present at the concerned institution's office.
E-registration will only be done for approved schemes and sanctioned documents.
Document formats will be approved online by the concerned AIG Registration.
Digital biometrics, digital signatures, photographs, and Aadhaar e-KYC are mandatory.
Stamp duty and registration fees will be paid online.
Email IDs and mobile numbers of the parties must be provided.
After verification, documents will be examined by the concerned sub-registrar online.
Registered documents will be preserved on the departmental portal.
Official Statement
Neha Sharma, Inspector General of Registration, has instructed local officials to promote this system and ensure maximum people benefit from it.
Sharma Naveen Kumar, AIG Registration, said: "The government's order has been received. This is a good initiative. It will provide relief to allottees of government institutions. The crowd at sub-registrar offices will also reduce. A meeting with officials of MEDA and Housing and Development Board will be held soon to implement this new system as soon as possible."
The Bottom Line
For property buyers in Meerut and across Uttar Pradesh, this new e-registration system eliminates the need to stand in long queues at registrar offices. Registration can now be completed at the authority's office itself, saving time and reducing paperwork.
