-

Why did profit rise when revenue fell?
The real estate segment's margin improved sharply, and the company mentioned a strong contribution from its leasing and hospitality businesses. Revenue in a quarter depends on construction progress, which can be lumpy.
What about pricing?
Dividing sales by area gives about Rs 14,050 per sq ft (our calculation), a premium level. Brigade's sales of Rs 1,827 crore were close to the roughly Rs 1,850 crore HDFC Securities had expected, and below the Rs 2,000 crore PL Capital had forecast.
What did management say?
Managing director Pavitra Shankar said residential continues to drive growth, supported by demand and the company's project pipeline, adding that launch momentum picked up. The company recently marked 40 years in business and set a plan to invest about Rs 40,000 crore over three years.
What to watch
Brigade also announced commercial paper issuance and two new real estate subsidiaries, and filings flag ongoing property-tax and environmental litigation.
